In the second game of the day it was Pocatello who took on Helper. The 5-3 loss was the first defeat of the season for the Helper team.

“I knew this would be our toughest game of the tourney and we lost 5-3.  We played well but did not hit as we only managed an infield single by Tyler Procarione.  Derek Young pitched five good innings and only allowed three runs on four hits. Blackburn came in in relief and gave up two mores runs on hits.  Overall I thought we played a good game and Pocatello made some very nice defensive plays as they took at least two doubles away from us and a couple of other hits,” Cisneros explained.

“This was good way to end our trip in Idaho. We played very well overall and outscored our opponents 37-8 in the four games. A lot guys saw a lot of time in various positions and hopefully we can continue playing the same caliber of ball that we played over the weekend. We ended up taking second behind Pocatello who did not lose a game.”

Helper takes on Granger Monday night at 7 p.m., as well as Cyprus on Wednesday at the same time.
