Sitting in a tie for second place with Herriman, Helper headed to league-leading Cyprus Wednesday for a chance to slip into a tie for first place. Cyprus ended up getting a walk-off 8-7 win, extending its lead and sending Helper to third place.

Ridge Nielson started on the mound for Helper but was relieved in the sixth by Cole Fossat. Both combined to give up four runs in the inning and trailed 7-3 entering the final inning. Helper countered with four runs to tie the game but gave up another in the bottom of the seventh for the heartbreaking loss.

Helper now sits in third place with a record of 4-3 behind Herriman and Cyprus. Price will visit Helper Monday at 8 p.m.
