Helper City, known for many years as Utah’s Christmas Town, hosts a plethora of activities every winter to celebrate the holidays. One of the most popular and anticipated events in conjunction with the festivities is the famous Helper Electric Light Parade.
The parade is hosted over the course of two evenings. This year, those evenings were Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. Many local businesses, entities, organizations and more signed up to brave the cold with the watching crowd and decorate a vehicle or trailer.
Per tradition, awards were distributed to those that went above and beyond expectations. In first place was Tony’s Lawn Care followed by Helper City in second. AutoFarm Price Auto Group rounded out the top three.
Tire King and JLC won the best business award while the Mecham family walked away with the best family float award. In the best school float category, USU 4-H Club took home the honors. For the best government float category, the Manti La-Sal Forest Service with Smokey the Bear earned the top honors. For the small non-profit category, the Matt Warner Chapter 1900 E Clampus Vitus took the top prize.
This year marked 30 years of celebration for Utah’s Christmas Town.
