Helper Man Shot in Domestic Violence Dispute

On Tuesday at 10:30 p.m., Helper City officers and Carbon County deputies were dispatched 60 B. Street in Helper City on the report of a domestic violence situation that ended with a male being shot.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 25-year-old adult male had suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg and was bleeding profusely. Helper Rescue 3 and the Carbon County Ambulance were summoned and attended to the male’s injury. Two other adult females and several small children were in or around the residence when the shooting occurred.

The female suspect, 26-year-old Shalese Manzanares of Price City, fled the scene in a vehicle with all the children. She was located a short time later at a residence in Price by Price City officers. Manzanares was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered from her vehicle.

The male subject, Colby Migliori of Helper City, was transported to Castleview Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition. Manzanares was also transported to Castleview and after being medically cleared, was transported to the Carbon County Jail.

Manzanares was charged with aggravated assault, carrying a dangerous weapon while under the influence, reckless endangerment and intoxication.

Charges are pending against Migliori for the alleged domestic assault that occurred before the shooting.
