Helper Middle School students gathered together in the school’s gymnasium on Thursday morning to exercise their creative talents with a cake decorating contest.
The contest is a FCCLA fundraiser that is helping the members of the school group raise funds in order to compete in a national competition that will take place in San Diego this summer. Students that wished to compete in the contest were to sign up with FCCLA advisor Susan Heller and pay a fee of $3.
The students were also to provide the supplies needed for their particular cake or cupcakes. There were five categories to choose from: animals, books/movies, sports, social media and seasons. Approximately 50 students signed up for the contest.
