Helper Middle School Students Compete at FCCLA Regionals

Helper Middle School FCCLA members, under the advisement of Mrs. Susan Heller, attended the region leadership Conference on Feb. 10 in Provo along with 300 other FCCLA members from Region 3. The students came with their projects and participated in the STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events competition.

Individual awards included food innovations, Makaela Kinder and Kelsea Nef who earned a gold medal; Hailey Feichko and Kylie Madsen competed in entrepreneurship, receiving a silver medal. Tiffany Kinder and Jerica Blanchard competed in chapter in review display and received a silver medal. Sydnie Callahan and Hakayla Snow competed in chapter in review portfolio and received a silver medal. Alex Cartwright and Lizabeth Pugliese competed in life event planning and received a bronze medal. Kylee Tweddell competed in entrepreneurship and received a bronze medal.

The STAR Event competitors earned the opportunity to attend the FCCLA state leadership conferences on March 22 in Layton. They will gather there with 2,000 plus fellow state FCCLA members, attend FCCLA program workshops and leadership sessions, and compete in STAR Events.
