The children’s activities included making Barbie doll zombies and having zombie story-time. Fierce MMA & Fitness made an appearance as well and taught the kids a zombie defense training at the Helper fire station. After the zombie defense training, the fire station got loud with music for the Thriller dance off with Amanda Holley Paiz.

At 8 p.m. that evening, the pre-registered Zombie Run 5k took place at the Helper City Park. The event was hosted by Pinnacle Canyon Academy in conjunction with Helper First Friday. Those who participated in the 5k received a t-shirt and a glow stick. They were also cautioned of zombies on the parkway, so runners were advised to bring a headlamp.
