Helper Police Chief Issues Statement on Sexual Assault Case

The following is a release from Helper Police Chief Trent Anderson regarding a sexual assault that occurred Monday:

On 09/23/2013, Helper City police officers responded to the area of Canyon and Duchesne Street on a reported sexual assault.  The female victim reported that a male who appeared to be a construction worker, knocked on her door and asked her a construction related question.  The victim reported that the suspect then pulled a knife on her and she was sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5’5 to 5’7 in height, “chunky,” and between 30-40 years in age.  He has brown eyes and black hair.  The victim reported that the suspect was wearing a “green,” colored construction vest and a white hard hat.

Please be aware that we do have several construction projects and workers in the Helper area who are doing legitimate work.  However, if you see anything suspicious or out of place, please contact us immediately.
