On Thursday, a number of employees from the Hogle Zoo visited Wellington Elementary for an exciting morning.
Both second grade classes had the opportunity to learn about some of the habitats in Utah and some of the animals that live there. Students participated in a hands-on activity of sorting pictures, pelts and other items into groups of what they thought their habitats were.
The students learned about wetlands, deserts and mountains. After they finished discussing habitats and animals, the children were able to see some of the animals in person. They were shown a tiger salamander and a tortoise.
