See what locals are saying about the new movie to hit the King Koal Theatre:

What if everything you love was taken from you in the blink of an eye? “The Host” is the next epic love story from the creator of the “Twilight Saga,” worldwide bestselling author, Stephenie Meyer. When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about – Jared (Max Irons), Ian (Jake Abel), her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her Uncle Jeb (William Hurt) , proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.

The movie started out interesting and suspenseful then later on it got just a little too girly for me. But it was adventurous and exciting. I give The Host four out of five stars.

In a perfect world there can be perfect flaws. Based on Stephanie Meyer’s best selling novel, “The Host” tells the gripping tale of humanity’s fight for freedom. When an alien race comes to inhabit the body of humans to create a peaceful environment, one girl is not ready to give up those she loves most. In the battle to save the human race, and protect those she loves Melanie must show her alien inhabitor, Wanda, the passion that drives us every day.  Having not read the novel previously, I was a blank page and was very impressed with the Director’s vision. Great special effects, and a new spin on the “Love Triangle”, or in this movie “Love Rectangle”. It has up-beat action scenes, and plenty of sci-fi entertainments, but The Host is a chick-flick at heart. Great Date Night movie! Four out of five stars.

This movie was very interesting in the beginning with a lot of action that kept me guessing. Toward the end it became very predictable and slow moving and boring. I rate this movie three out of five star.
