The Hope Squad of Carbon/Emery Counties hosted its first ever Hope Festival on Friday night. The event included kid’s games, bingo, drawings, door prizes, a chili dinner and an appearance by Santa. Bikers Against Child Abuse along with generous donations from businesses and residents in the two-county area made the event a huge success.
The Hope Festival’s goal was to bring awareness to the community about suicide.
“There has been a huge increase in suicides in Carbon and Emery counties,” explained Hope Squad member Debbie Marvidikis. “We want people to know that they are not alone, the community is here for them.”
