The Hope Squad of Carbon and Emery counties hosted its fourth annual Hope Rock and Walk Friday evening. The night began at the Price City Peace Gardens where members of the Hope Squad along with community members met for a brief explanation of the night and to hear the guest speaker.

This year’s guest speaker was Molly McClish from Moab. Molly lost her 13-year-old daughter, Lily, last January to suicide. When speaking about the loss of her daughter, she related to many of those in attendance when speaking about the grieving process. She explained that grief comes in waves, some days being harder than others.

After McClish finished speaking to the crowd, attendees began the walk to Pioneer Park, banners and yellow ribbons proudly displayed.

After arriving at the park, Debbie Marvidikis welcomed anyone who would like to speak about the loss of someone to suicide to come forward. Many came up and shared their stories and thoughts about a person they have lost. A balloon release followed.

Those in attendance were able to enjoy dinner and a live band to finish the evening.
