Horseshoe Enthusiasts Try to Beat the Heat at Annual Tournament

Horseshoe throwers gathered for the sixth annual Beat the Heat Doubles Horseshoe Tournament on Saturday at Price’s Washington Park.

The event boasted a 2 p.m. start time as teams braved the heat of the day to compete for a large cash pot. Clinton Badback and Tommy Elkface came out victorious, securing the win. Bo Sandoval and Tommy Martinez followed close behind in second place with Josh Eden and Casey Norton taking third.

Next up for the Carbon County Horseshoe Crew is Price City’s International Days. Registration will begin immediately following the parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29. The double elimination tournament, which costs $10 per team, is set to begin at 1 p.m. For more information, call Ro at (435) 820-6636.
