Many booths and attractions will once again adorn Washington Park in this year’s annual Price City International Day celebration July 26, 27. One of the booths that is worth checking out is the United Way Fundraiser for the Soles 2 Souls program.
The United Way Soles 2 Souls project provides news shoes for school age children who’s shoes are worn out and falling apart. Referrals to the program are made through schools by teachers, principals and staff when they identify a student in need. Shoes are available for any student in Carbon and Emery counties in grades K-12.
The program has also provided specialty athletic shoes for kids participating in sports. This allows kids that might otherwise stay away from participating because they can’t afford athletic shoes needed to play.
This is the last big fundraising opportunity for the program before school starts. Please stop by the United Way of Eastern Utah booth and buy a hot dog meal. Every dollar made goes directly to benefit the shoe program.
There will be a drawing for a brand new shed donated by Sutherlands. The winner will be contacted Saturday evening and need not be present to win.
