UPDATE – Huntington Canyon was reopened to the public last night after the flash flood warning was lifted for the area. It is still advised that the public exercise caution while in the area due to the fact that mudslides are still a possibility throughout the canyon.

Huntington Canyon has been closed once again due to high amounts of rain resulting in potential flash floods. Authorities are working now to assess the flood situation in the canyon.

According to the National Weather Service, the flash flood warning will be in place from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. or longer. The damage from the Seely fire in Huntington Canyon makes the area susceptible to flooding and mud slides. The National Weather Service has detected mud, rocks, and trees moving across SR 31.
