TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2019: A large slide occurred in Huntington Canyon today, temporarily blocking Huntington Creek. The slide came down Day Canyon near the Chute Campsite. A large amount of snow and debris came off the burn scar from the Seeley Fire of 2012. Today’s slide was approximately 200 yards wide and between 30 and 40 feet deep. Heavy equipment was dispatched to the scene, but the creek managed to break through the slide on its own. SR31 was not impacted.
