At approximately 3:18 a.m. an accident occurred on State Route 6 near mile post 226 in Price Canyon, resulting in a fatality of a local individual.

A semi tractor trailer was traveling westbound in the early hours when it collided with a pickup truck, according to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP). The semi was attempting to pass a tractor trailer while in a designated no-passing zone, resulting in the head-on collision with the red Ford F-350.

UHP has identified the driver of the Ford as Huntington resident Baylan Nelson, a 22-year-old. Nelson passed away at the scene and charges against the driver of the semi trailer truck are currently pending. Several agencies have been reported as assisting with the crash investigation and traffic was diverted to Emma Park Road and State Route 191 while the accident was assessed and cleaned.
