The holiday craft season is officially underway. The I’ll Be Home For Christmas event in Wellington kicked things off on Friday evening and will continue throughout Saturday at Wellington Elementary.
Various craft, food and product vendors are set up at the event as well as a silent auction. Entertainment is also provided by area dance companies and other performing groups.
Dinner was offered Friday evening and a crepe bar was set up on Saturday. Funds from both meals will go towards assisting Wellington residents who experienced property damage due to flooding in late September.
According to Wellington Mayor Joan Powell, the craft fair would not have happened without event organizers Britnee Miller, Sarah Bradley and Nicole Hobbs. “Tons of time has gone into this to make sure it is successful,” Powell acknowledged. “They have worked hard, very hard and are so enthusiastic. They are awesome women.”
