The sun shown brightly through the large glass windows Wednesday at Parkdale Health and Rehabilitation Center to highlight the facility’s new look. At noon, community members and the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Parkdale’s improvements.
Administrator David Funk said that while the remodeling efforts are the first thing a person might see as they come into the building, there has also been a big push in quality of care over the last three years as well. This has resulted in Parkdale being ranked as four star center. Also, it is in the top five out of 98 similar facilities in Utah.
Upgrades, such as new paint and beds, continue to improve individual resident rooms without disrupting ongoing care. Parkdale has moved the physical therapy room and remodeled an activity space for residents. The dining room was also recently upgraded and the new, open foyer and sitting area welcome both residents and visitors to the warm and inviting space.
