The inaugural CTE Fair was hosted at Carbon High School on Thursday afternoon. The purpose of this fair was to welcome all eighth graders in the district to Carbon High as they begin mapping out possibilities for their future at the high school and beyond.
The students were divided into groups, which then visited eight different career clusters that showed them the pathways that they could complete while at CHS, through the district and at USU Eastern. There are over 20 pathways that a student can complete while in attendance at the high school, which provide applicable job skills and oftentimes result in an industry-recognized certificate or associate’s degree. Students district-wide have all been given the opportunity to complete a form program that allows them to see what they could participate in throughout the coming school years.
Through the program, the students also must have three credits completed. This will help them move toward a chosen career.
Those that complete the program will be given a special cord to wear during graduation.
