Price City Police Department Press Release

On Wednesday just after 11 p.m., Price City Police Officer Shawn Sackett began investigating a possible theft case at a local retail business in Price. The initial investigation led to the discovery of drugs, paraphernalia and cash.

The alleged owner of the items is Vanessa Christine Monroe-Jimenez, DOB 2/24/79, of Price. After being given her Miranda warnings, Monroe-Jimenez was allegedly cooperative and acknowledged ownership of the items. Officer Sackett allegedly seized eight grams of methamphetamine, two grams of heroin, several Xanax pills, paraphernalia items and just over $1,600 cash from Monroe-Jimenez.

She was booked into the Carbon County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and heroin with intent to distribute as second degree felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia and Xanax both as class B misdemeanors. The Carbon County Attorney’s Office will review reports determine what formal charges will be filed.

Monroe-Jimenez has eleven prior arrests on her history, including drug distribution, trespass, paraphernalia and theft charges. She is presently on a plea in abeyance as of October 6, 2014, for a period of 24 months, and allegedly has an additional Order To Show Cause issue regarding her present agreement.
