Two women business leaders know that in a small community, it’s not just business. While daily tasks require full-time responsibility and duties, Alida Farlaino and Colleen Loveless understand that their positions can also make a difference in the local community.

At the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet on Thursday, the chamber recognized the two women for their exemplary service to the community in 2017. Farlaino was honored with the community service award while Loveless was recognized as the chamber’s outstanding board member.

Owner of TougHer Gym in Price, Farlaino is involved in numerous community activities, including the Angel Baby organization, Sweat for Vets and FitCon. She can also often be found heading her own unique fundraisers to help those in need. Farlaino is also a strong supporter of local law enforcement officers and emergency services personnel.

President and CEO of Loveless Ash Company and Dustless Technologies, Loveless also received special recognition at the banquet for being named the chamber’s outstanding board member of the year. A friendly face at many chamber events, ribbon cuttings and board meetings, Loveless is a reliable member of the board that brings an array of expertise to her position. She also serves on the board for Zion’s Bank and Castleview Hospital as well as finding time to serve as Relief Society President.

“This award has been given to Colleen for her outstanding service towards our chamber members, the chamber board members and its employees,” the chamber shared. “We are honored to have her as part of the board and look forward to seeing the benefits of her being the 2018 vice president.”
