Emery put together its most complete game of the season on Thursday night inside the Spartan Center. The Spartans were not to be denied, not even by a talented, 5a Salem Hills. The Lady Spartans shot the lights out of the gym in the first half, lead primarily by sophomore Baylee Jacobson. Jacobson was 6-6 in the first half including 4-4 from beyond the arc. She had 17 points by halftime. As a team, Emery shot 50% from three in the first half and went up 41-20 over Lady Skyhawks.
Not only did the Spartans have a great shooting performance, they stood out in other areas on the court. They frustrated Salem Hills with their active defense and helped force 13 Skyhawk turnovers. They held Salem Hills to 18% from the three-point line. Emery also took great care of the ball and only turned it over two times in the entirety of the contest.
The Spartans ended the night shooting 50% from the field and 39% from the three-point line. Jacobson had a game-high 21 points. Halley Allred, Tambrie Tuttle and Kiri Cook joined the action with 15, 13 and 10 points respectively. Those in attendance saw the Lady Spartans come together as a team and play with a lot of confidence. They will be tough to beat if they continue to execute with such efficiency.
Emery (4-2) will head on the road Friday night to take on the undefeated North Summit Braves (6-0).
