The true measure of a man;
What he is,
Not what he has,
Nor what did his eulogy say,
But how many felt sad
When he passed away
Jim died quietly at his home in Fort Bridger, Wyoming, June 1, 2024, with his wife and dog by him. He was born March 18, 1949, to Robert Vern and Corabelle Smart Crossley in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He owned his own excavation business and rodeo bull business. Jim was a Vietnam veteran and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a retired locomotive engineer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daniel and sister Valerie.
