Just a junior and having led her team to the 3A title last month, Emery’s Megan Jensen was named the 3A MVP as announced on Thursday.

Jensen has led Emery to back-to-back-to-back Region 15 titles, including two straight championship appearances. She was named the 3A Tournament MVP last month after leading the Lady Spartans over the Richfield Wildcats, posting a game-high 25 points and grabbing 10 boards in the 47-32 win. Emery has lost just three times the past two seasons, posting a record of 47-3 in the process.

On the season, Jensen averaged 17.1 points per game, all while being constantly double and triple teamed. She also averaged 8.8 rebounds per game as well. Jensen chipped in 2.6 blocks per game as well as 2.3 steals.

Jensen had seven games in which she scored at least 20 points, including a huge 34- point performance that included 15 rebounds at North Summit on Nov. 28. She scored in double figures in all but three games. In those three games, Emery outscored its opponents by a whopping 216-61. Jensen posted seven double doubles on the season and made five of her nine three point attempts.

Jensen will look to lead her team, which will feature four of the starting five from this season’s championship team, back to another 3A title game next season.
