Hundreds of people of all ages swarm the cliffs at Joe’s Valley Reservoir as the water begins to rise in both level and temperature.
The main attraction is about half-a-mile past the dam, just off the west side of the road. Cliffs ranging from about 10 to 50 feet above the water provide plenty of variety for thrill seekers.
Witnessing back flips and other aerial acrobatics is commonplace among observers.
While getting ready to jump, Shantelle Hansen said, “Although it gives you butterflies when looking down from the top of the cliff, the second you jump it gives you an exhilarating thrill.”
