Sandra Jones shared her knowledge of the slave trade on The Old Spanish Trail at the Emery County Historical Society Meeting on Tuesday.
Jones said she gained an interest and knowledge on the subject during countless years of studying and teaching history.
Jones has roots in the Emery County area, and an interest in its history with the Spanish Trails slave trade. A young gentleman, after reading Jones’ book The Trial of Pedro Leon Lujan, thought the Historical Society would be interested in what she had to offer. Jones accepted the invitation to speak without hesitation.
Jones spent quite a while answering questions after an hour of explaining about the trials of trading, including the many children that were traded for goods.
