The riding club season came to an end last weekend for youngsters in Carbon and Emery counties. Throughout the summer, riders get together and compete in numerous events.

This year members of the Dust Riders club based in Emery County traveled to Price to participate in the region meet. Carbon County riding club, Rim Rock Riders also participated.

Youngsters competed in numerous events including barrels, pole bending, key hole and team events. Children younger than 11 competed in events suitable to their age and ability.

During the summer long season, riding club members appear in a parade and sharpen their skills. Between both counties, approximately 60 riders participated in this year’s clubs. Members would like to see more riders join next year. The season begins each spring and concludes with the region meet at the end of summer.

A senior riding club will compete in it’s annual district meet this weekend at the Carbon County Fairgrounds. Riders 18 and older will participate in the senior event.
