On championship day of the 13U Pacific Southwest Regional Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament on Friday, the Kai Red Sox came out swinging. They pounced on El Segundo and exacted revenge with a 10-0 beating. Caleb Kim only gave up one hit in his shutout performance while the win forced a winner-takes-all championship game.
El Segundo scored its first run of the day in the opening inning but the Red Sox answered back with three runs to take the lead and maintain the momentum. The Red Sox were not to be denied and completed an excellent day with a 11-1 win to take the tournament. They will go on to play in the Babe Ruth World Series in Massachusetts in the second week of August.
