Keener with Two Silver Medals in 1A State Meet

The Green River Pirates and Pinnacle Panthers competed at BYU for the UHSAA 1A State Championships over the weekend. Senior Jenilee Keener of Green River capped off her impressive season winning two silver medals and a bronze in the throw events.

Keener had a distance of 106-10.0 in Discus, earning her the silver, as well as a distance of 122-10.0 in Javelin, which earned her second-place. She would bring home the trifecta of medals in the Shot Put, with a distance of 32-6.75, for the bronze medal.

Heather Kerr of Pinnacle, claimed the fifth-place podium in Shot Put, with a distance of 31-10.0. The junior also placed thirteen in Discus (86-9.0) and eighteenth in Javelin (83-9.0). For the rest of the Pinnacle team, Keira Davis placed sixteenth in the 3200m Run in 17:18.87. Levi Miller finished seventeenth in Shot Put, with a distance of 30-6.75.

Madison Sasser claimed seventeenth in the 800m Run (2:57.90) and nineteenth in the Javelin (79-2.0). Kaydence Romero finished nineteenth in the 800m Run with a time of 3:20.77. Riley Davis placed nineteenth as well in the Javelin with a throw of 96-6.0.

For the Green River team, Cristian Venzor finished eleventh in Javelin, with a throw of 133-9.0. Mattie Meadows placed thirteenth in the Long Jump, with a distance of 12-9.25. Ryker Meadows finished fourteenth in the Long Jump, with a distance of 16-2.75. Diego Contreras placed fifteenth in the 200m Dash, in a time of 25.48. Gabriel Quintana placed twentieth in Javelin, with a throw of 95-2.0.
