Keith Wayne Nelson, age 53, passed away April 10, 2016.  He was born September 11, 1962 in Price, Utah to J. Rulon Nelson and Ruth McConkie Nelson.

The youngest of twelve children, Keith enjoyed the simple things of life.  As a child growing up, you could always find him smiling. He was an avid reader and enjoyed all literature.  He was happy with a good book and a bowl of Sugar Pops.  Because he was so well-read, he could carry on a conversation about nearly everything from early cowboys, bandits, and rustlers to the history and rulers of European monarchies.  If you suggested a good book to him, chances were very good that he had already read it.

He grew up on a farm in Ferron, Utah where he and his dog Christy were inseparable. He attended Emery High School and then spent years working as a coal miner in Utah.  He moved to Idaho where he worked at a sawmill.  He married Amy Ann Mathena-Nelson; later divorced.  He had 3 sons whom he dearly loved:  Keith Jr., Kevin R., and Kerry D., all live in Washington State with their grandmother.

He is survived by siblings:  Sylvia (Gerald) Haycock, Draper, UT; Beth (Leon) Bogedahl, Torrey, UT; Anne (Michael) Thompson, Richland, WA; James R. (Lynda) Nelson and Mark R. (Ruth) Nelson, Ferron, UT.  Keith was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Conrad, Corinne, Monte, Lynn, Linda, and Clyde.

Graveside services at the Ferron, Utah, cemetery at noon April 30, 2016.
