A fundraiser was hosted at Bruin Point Elementary on Friday night in honor of Kathleen Goodin, the school’s head custodian.
Goodin is preparing for a kidney and pancreas transplant, which is a lengthy and costly process. Bruin Point Elementary staff and community members joined forces to host the “Kickoff for Kathleen” event.
The festivities featured a silent auction, raffle, dinner, bake sale, games and a fun run. Members of the community flocked to the school in support of Goodin.
On Monday, after donations from the event had been tallied, the school presented Goodin with a check of $7,630.
