The Carbon County Employee of the Month for the month of October was announced by Carbon County Human Resources Director Rose Barnes during Wednesday evening’s regularly-scheduled commission meeting.
This month, the honor went to Kim Wilcox, who works for animal services and the Carbon County Animal Shelter. Barnes remarked that animals are a touchy subject and that they do an amazing amount of work, a lot of adoptions and more.
Wilcox was nominated by Dave Brewer a few months prior. He stated that the animal services department went through some growing pains and in the blink of an eye, Wilcox was the last one. She ran the place perfectly all on her own, according to Brewer, who furthered by stating that Wilcox does at least a half-dozen man job by herself.
Brewer agreed that the animal kingdom is not for everyone and that those that work with them have to have a lot of heart.
“I really appreciate everything you’ve done, Kim,” he concluded.
Wilcox was awarded with a commemorative plaque and will have her photo displayed in the administration building throughout the duration of the month.
