The Lady Dinos and Spartans competed in the 2017 UHSAA 3A Volleyball Championship last week in Orem.
While taking on the Morgan Trojans in the first round, the Dinos fell by three sets. The Trojans outmatched Carbon 25-10, 25-11 and 25-8.
The Trojans made it to the championship match after beating Delta and Richfield following the win against the Dinos. Morgan won the championship against North Sanpete by three sets, 25-11, 25-11 and 25-21.
Emery High School then took on the South Summit Wildcats in the first round. The Spartans won the first set , 25-19. The Wildcats fought back and stole the next three sets from the Spartans, 25-16, 25-18 and 25-12.
South Summit then went on to the quarterfinals, where the team fell to Union by three sets, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-14.
