The Carbon High Lady Dinos strolled into the Spartan Center in Castle Dale on Thursday afternoon and dominated the Emery High Lady Spartans.
Carbon jumped out to an early 14-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 49-30 win.
Miranda Averett and Rachel Scoggins led the Lady Dinos with 17 and 11 points, respectively.
Averett stole the show as she drilled four three-pointers on her way to the game high mark.
“It feels good after losing to Emery last year in the [State] Tournament,” Carbon head coach Ted Bianco said. “[This win] gives our girls confidence that they can win on the road against good teams.”
Blayr Jeffs led Emery with eight points.
The game was broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 and will be rebroadcast throughout the coming weeks.
Carbon next hosts Richfield at 7 p.m. Dec. 6.
Emery next takes on Weber at Bear River High School on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
