Kaytlyn Cripps homered twice to lead the Carbon Lady Dinos to an important 10-4 win over the North Sanpete Hawks Tuesday afternoon in Price. The Hawks beat the Lady Dinos 11-6 back on March 21.
Cripps hit a two-run shot in the first inning that scored Kelsey Sorenson. Cali Fossat also homered in the first, giving Carbon the 3-0 lead.
The Lady Dinos then scored another six runs in the second, led by Cripps with another two-run home run. Carbon scored its final run of the game on the team’s fourth home run of the game, a solo shot by Makenna Pendergrass in the bottom of the sixth.
McKenna Sorenson pitched six innings, giving up two runs. Kinley Nelson allowed two runs in the seventh inning before retiring the side to secure the Lady Dinos’ second Region 12 win.
The win over the Hawks and a loss by Canyon View to Richfield on Tuesday put Carbon in a two-way tie for third place with the Falcons.
Carbon (10-5, 2-3 Region 12) will play at Uintah Tuesday before hosting Juab next Friday.
