The Lady Dinos golf team traveled to Payson for a matchup April 1. Carbon competed against Richfield, Juab, Payson and North Sanpete and earned a third place finish with 86 points.
“The girls are young and I am really proud of them,” head coach Kenji Otani said. “My young ones, I kind of threw them into the fire because they had never played at a tournament before but they did good.”
Braxton Gibson led the team with 33 points. Kaycee Gilson also topped the charts with 22. Lani Davis had 17 and Gwyn Kardelis rounded out the scoring with 14.
Juab finished on top with 110 points while Richfield grabbed 102. North Sanpete had 83 and Payson ended with 38.
The team has a bye week this week but will travel to Vernal to gain some experience on the course. The Lady Dinos will then compete on their own course on April 15. The tournament will start at 12:30 p.m.
