The Lady Dinos hosted senior night on Thursday when American Leadership Academy (ALA) came to town. Annamaria Cartwright, Katlyn Cripps and Jodi Noyes were all honored after their last home game of their high school careers.
Carbon made quick work of the visiting Eagles, going up 37-20 after the first half. The Lady Dinos padded their lead in the second to remain perfect in region play with a 73-30 victory.
Noyes led all scores with 21 points. She had everything going for her in her last home game. From her jump shot to some nice post moves for easy scores and to solid defense consisting of five blocks. Cora Lamborn had a solid game with 15 points. Abbie Saccomanno added 12 points of her own while Jordan Bianco put in 11 points and grabbed five steals. Noyes, Lamborn and Saccomonno all pulled down a team high seven rebounds in the contest.
The Lady Dinos’ (19-2, 12-0 Region 14) opening round game at the state tournament will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 at Orem High School. Carbon will have to wait on the results from Friday’s games but they will play either Grand (7-13, 2-9 Region 15) or North Sanpete (4-17, 3-9 Region 15). All tournament games will be streamed live online and on ETV Channel 10.
