After falling to Cedar City 7-1 during the first round of the state tournament on May 13, the Carbon High softball team bounced back to continue in the one-loss bracket after a 10-1 win against Logan earlier in the week.
Thursday found the team facing off against Desert Hills and taking the win, 3-2, to continue on in state action.
The matchup pitted the Lady Dinos against the Thunder, where Carbon grabbed a single run in the first and another in the third. Entering the fourth, Desert Hills put up a single run after which Carbon responded with their own in the fifth. Desert Hills would manage another in the sixth but the Lady Dinos held to their lead and finished off with the win.
Carbon next took on Stansbury and walked away with a 7-3 loss, exiting the 3A state tourney.
