Sitting in second place in the Region 12 standings entering Tuesday’s game against Spanish Fork, the Carbon Lady Dinos needed a win to keep pace with first place Delta. They did so, beating the the Lady Dons 43-40.
Giovanna Chiara led the Lady Dinos in scoring with 10 points. Shailee Croasmun added nine and Annika Hansen chipped in eight more off the bench.
Neither team could get anything going offensively in the fourth quarter, with both teams scoring a combined 11 points.
Carbon (13-5, 6-1 Region 12) is just one game behind Delta in the win column with three games remaining. The Dinos and Rabbits will meet again February 7 to close the regular season. Delta upended Carbon 50-41 on January 22.
The Dinos will travel to Juab on Thursday.
