The Carbon Lady Dinos rallied from a 5-1 deficit Friday afternoon in Price to beat an impressive Union Cougar team 12-9.
Tied at seven heading into the bottom of the sixth, Carbon scored five runs to take the 12-7 lead.
McKenna Sorenson nailed a double with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, plating two, breaking the seven-all tie. Cali Fossat added another double after Sorenson to plate two more. Makenna Pendergrass singled in the same inning, scoring another.
Union scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but Kinley Nelson, who earned the complete-game win, struck out the final batter to hand the Lady Dinos the win.
Carbon (7-2, 0-0 Region 12) will kick off Region 12 play at North Sanpete on Tuesday.
