While at North Sanpete on Tuesday, the Carbon High Cross Country Teams ran their way to several victories with the boys’ team taking third overall and the girls’ team placing first, taking the title of Region 12 Champions.
The nail-biting meet resulted in a ten-point spread among participating teams including Canyon View, Juab, North Sanpete and Richfield, according to Carbon’s Cross Country Coach Tellise Allen.
Carbon Senior Sarah Ohlwiler, who shaved 45 seconds off her previous run on the same course two weeks ago, broke the tie that helped boost the girls’ team to their victory.
Fellow Lady Dino Emily Broadbear took second overall and similarly helped the team snag the victory.
Also while at the event, Logan Engar, Sarah Ohlwiler, Sadie Crompton, Emily Broadbear and Paul Bryner were received Academic All-region awards.
Both teams will represent Carbon at the upcoming state tourney which will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
