The first game of the 2018 soccer season was a struggle for the Lady Dinos as the team dropped their season opener to Richfield on Thursday. Carbon fell to the Wildcats in Richfield, 9-3.
Richfield’s commanding first half put the Dinos in a hole they could not climb out of. The Wildcats connected with the net six times in the first half while Carbon managed a lone goal to trail by five at the half.
The Dinos responded with two more goals after the break, but another three for Richfield gave the host team the dominating win.
Katie Marshall led the offense for Carbon, netting two goals. Grace Broadbear added one more for the Price team.
The Dinos will host their first home game of the season, another pre-season matchup, on Tuesday. The team will welcome Gunnison Valley at 3:30 p.m. in Price.
