Lady Dinos Overcome Uintah’s Fast Start *Photo Gallery*

The Uintah Lady Utes visited Price on Friday for a match-up with the Carbon Lady Dinos. Coming off an overtime loss, Uintah was determined to get back on track. The Lady Utes came out blazing and dropped 19 points in the first quarter.

Trailing by six, the Lady Dinos stepped up their game and chipped away at their deficit to close it to 28-25 at halftime. Carbon continued its momentum after the break and took the lead by scoring 17 points in the third quarter. The Lady Dinos closed out the game with a 31-15 second half to defeat the Utes 56-43.

Abbie Saccomanno had team-highs of 22 points and five steals to go along with five assists. Jordan Bianco finished the game with 14 points, six assists and three steals while Makenna Blanc added eight points, five assists and three steals.

The Lady Dinos clamped down defensively after the first quarter and forced 16 steals in the contest. They moved the ball with extreme efficiency, totaling 16 assists with only two turnovers. Their defensive effort along with their offensive cognizance aided their come-from-behind win.

Carbon (8-4) will conclude its non-region schedule against South Summit (7-6) on the road on Thursday. Region play will commence next week with a home competition with South Sevier (11-0) on Jan. 7 and a road game against rival Emery (6-4) on Jan. 9.
