Carbon headed to Richfield over the weekend to play in the SVC Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Dinos narrowly managed to remain undefeated this year against rival Emery with a 2-1 win. They took the first set 25-14 and then lost the second set 22-25. In the third set, they escaped the potential upset with a 16-14 victory.
To close out Friday’s contests, the Lady Dinos fell to Panguitch (13-25, 13-25) and North Summit in a close match (22-25, 25-18, 15-17). Carbon rebounded on Saturday and did not lose another set in the tournament. The Lady Dinos defeated Enterprise (25-18, 30-28), North Sevier (25-18, 25-10), Millard (25-17, 25-17) and Milford (25-20, 25-21).
Emma Christensen led the Lady Dinos with 57 kills in the tourney while Diana Morley had a team-high 20 blocks. Kaite Jones had 74 digs and Makenna Blanc produced 134 assists.
Carbon (15-10, 2-6 Region 12) will host senior night on Wednesday as the Grand Red Devils (18-8, 5-3 Region 12) come to town.
