The Carbon Lady Dinos jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead in their Region 12 opener against the Canyon View Falcons Tuesday night and cruised to a 50-20 win. The win marked Carbon’s ninth in a row.
During its current winning streak Carbon has outscored its opponents by nearly 20 ppg., 54.1 to 35.5. The Lady Dinos led 31-9 at halftime.
Carbon continued its dominating defensive performance in the second half, keeping the Lady Falcons scoreless for nearly a full quarter from the 2:48 mark of the third to the 3:08 mark of the fourth. The Lady Dinos outscored Canyon View 9-0 during that span.
Junior Lindsey Blanc led Carbon with 13 points. Sara Morley and Morgan Hillam pitched in eight apiece. Kelsey Sorensen chipped in seven points in the win. Nine Lady Dinos scored in the game.
Carbon (14-1, 1-0 Region 12, #3 in 3A) will next take on the North Sanpete Hawks (5-10, 0-1 Region 12) on Thursday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 6 at 7 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant.
