Wednesday found the Carbon Lady Dinos facing off against cross-county rivals the Emery Lady Spartans in a bout of non-region action that ended with Carbon walking away with a 15-1 win.
Carbon opened the game strong, putting up a total of 14 by the third at which point Emery managed its sole run. Carbon grabbed another in the fourth to increase the overall score.
Addy Healy grabbed a single as well as teammate Jaycee Bennett who grabbed two for Emery. The team’s sole run in the game came at the hands of Regan Rassmusen, who cracked a homer in the third.
Kelsey Sorenson managed a single during the faceoff as well as Kinley Nelson, Cali Fossat and Markale Gressman. Makenna Pendegrass grabbed two singles while Kaytlyn Cripps hit four.
Dekota Kreushaar hit the team’s sole double during the match. Fossat also hit a home-run for the team.
Lady Dino Kinely Nelson was awarded the win from the circle while pitching three innings and giving up three hits and an earned run as well as a homer.
Bailey Huggard took the loss for the Black and Gold, going three innings and letting eleven hits, seven earned runs and a single homer slide by.
