Payson made it a perfect 3-0 against the Carbon Lady Dinos this season after an 8-1 win in Price on Tuesday.
Carbon scored its only run in the first inning. The Lions pounded out 15 hits on the afternoon. Alexus Wilson and Katie Basinger had the only hits for Carbon. Kinley Nelson was credited with the loss in the circle.
With four games remaining on their schedule, including three Region 12 games, the Lady Dinos could overtake Juab for the third seed going into the 3A playoffs. Carbon and Juab will play in Price on Wednesday and then in Nephi on Friday.
Carbon will finish up the regular season Monday at Park City and Tuesday at North Sanpete.
