In a bout of nonregion action last Thursday, the Carbon High Lady Dinos hosted the 5A West Panthers and managed another victory, 64-51.
The end of the first had both teams tied 13-13. Carbon managed to pull ahead in the second, however, putting up a game-high 19 and leading the Panthers by nine points. Carbon blew past West in the third, managing 17 points compared to West’s six and took the overall score to 49-29.
West poured in during the fourth, scoring 22, though it wasn’t enough as the Lady Dinos took the victory.
Senior McKenna Sorenson led her team Thursday, sinking a total of 15 for the Blue and White while fellow seniors Cyene Bigelow and Lindsey Blanc put up double figures 14 and 12, respectively.
Chandelle Nichols landed two three-point shots followed by Kelsey Sorenson and Jessica Jensen, who each put up one as well.
Carbon will next host Park City on Thursday as the team looks for their next victory.
