The Carbon Lady Dinos took a 4-1 record over the weekend to their annual trip to Colorado and came home with 1-2 record.
Since their first trip to Fruita, Colo. back in the 2006-07 season, the Dinos have posted a 17-10 overall record in the tournament.
Carbon took on Grand Junction Central High School on Thursday and came away with a 49-32 win behind 14 points by sophomore Lindsey Blanc. Jerika Morgan pulled down 10 boards to go along with seven points.
In their penultimate game, the Dinos faced Grand Junction High School. In a close game, Grand Junction was able to do just enough each quarter to slip past Carbon for the win, 45-35. Blanc again paced the Dinos with 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Despite 11 points from Jordan Scoggins on Saturday against Fruita Monument High School, the Dinos fell flat in the fourth quarter and were sent home with a 41-30 loss. The two teams will meet again in Price on Jan. 6. The matchup will televised on ETV Channel 10.
Carbon (5-3, 0-0 Region 12) will travel to Uintah (4-4, 0-0 Region 10) on Wednesday.
